Sharefest 2019

On November 16, twelve congregations gathered to share lessons and learnings about what God is doing in this journey together.

For part of the morning, we listened to four conversations, involving six congregations. Many of the conversations were intergenerational, even as we focused on what God is doing among young adults. The stories, along with the inter-congregational fellowship, filled us with a sense of awe, gratitude, and joy to God. Hallelujah!

We started the conversations by listening to four young adults from Journey Church, who have experienced real community in the context of small groups and a vision trip to Washinigton, DC.

In the next interview, we listened to two pastors and two young adults from two congregations who recently decided to share a building together. Coming from different cultural backgrounds, this sharing has led to congregational influence on both sides—including intergenerational learning and fellowship.

Before the next interview, we previewed a summary video of Iglesia Emanuel’s summer outreach program—bringing healthy living (physically, emotionally, and spiritually) to Waukegan. This effort was led by young adults. After watching the recap, we had opportunity to hear from one of the pastors and two young adults.

During our fourth conversation, we listened to one pastor and two young adults from two congregations about how God is using the creative arts to reach out to the unchurched.
